Religion: Muslim 87% (official; includes Sunni 74% and Alawi, Ismaili, and Shia 13%), Christian (includes Orthodox, Uniate, and Nestorian) 10% (includes Orthodox, Uniate, and Nestorian), Druze 3%, Jewish (few remaining in Damascus and Aleppo)

Languages: Arabic (official), Kurdish, Armenian, Aramaic, Circassian (widely understood); French, English (somewhat understood)

Ethnic Groups: Arab 90.3%, Kurds, Armenians, and other 9.7%

PRAYER FOCUS

1. Pray for the children who have largely been effected by this war. Many have lost one or both parents, and many relatives. Their educated has been effected as many of the schools in Syria have been destroyed. Thousands more are having to work on the streets in order to survive. Pray that they will seek for Jesus, who will give them the peace that they seek for.

2. Pray for the Al-Nusa front to come to know Jesus.

3. Ask God to send forth His warring angels to stop the advancement of ISIS.

4. Pray that God would give President Assad divine wisdom in every decision, so that this war can cease and the country of Syria can be restored.

5. Ask God to open doors among the thousands of refugees which have fled Syria, to reach them with the Gospel.

6. Pray for God to reveal Himself through dreams and visions to the Syrian people. Pray for churches to be planted all over Syria and among refugee camps world wide, that preach the message of Repentance, Baptism in His name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Ask God to accelerate the multiplication of the church.

7. Ask God for a great harvest of souls.

8. Pray for favor with the government and open doors to reach into Syria.
